Battery-Less Cellphone Prototype Harvests Energy Out of Thin Air

A team of researchers at the University of Washington has come up with a working prototype of a cellphone that doesn’t require a battery to make calls or send text messages – instead, it harvests energy from thin air, more specifically, radio signals. Online courses in artificial intelligence, Internet of things and big data analytics, may soon be available at the Campus of Open Learning through Pan-African e-network initiative funded by the ministry of external affairs.
