The results for Class 12 board exams are expected to be declared by the fourth week of May, by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) .

The Class 12 board exams this year had the students and schools concerned due to the unexpected difficulty level. The physics and mathematics exams caused a lot of trouble for the candidates, and even led to certain schools to approach CBSE regarding the extremely tough papers.

The results are likely to be prepared by May 25, and ready to be declared on either May 27 or May 28. The Class 10 results are expected to be declared before the senior school examination results.

There is a possibility that the board will divide the results into phases before declaring the All India results. It is likely to release results in three regional phases, with the first phase starting in Chennai, second phase being in and then third phase concluded in Bhubaneswar. CBSE is expected to declare the All India results on May 27.

Approximately 10.4 lakh students who appeared for the Class 12 board exams are waiting for their results. Out of this, about 4.3 lakh are girls and  over 6 lakh are boys. The Class 10 examination taken by a total of 13.7 lakh students
