UGC issues draft rules on awarding degrees online, Aadhaar likely to be made mandatory for the courses

In what might pave way for obtaining degrees online, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has drafted UGC (Online Education) regulations, 2017 and has sought public feedback till August 18. Once the regulations are in place, students and working professionals will be able to obtain a degree online, recognised by the UGC. Institutes will be able to offer online degrees in all fields, except engineering, medicine, dental, pharmacy, nursing, architecture and physiotherapy. Students who could not make the cut at Delhi University in the first cutoff list should not lose hope. Admissions to popular honours courses such as Economics, BCom, English, Mathematics, Physics, and BA Programme are still open in most colleges with a dip of 0.25-3 percentage points in the second list released by Delhi University. DU adds more seats to finance, business, economics courses this year

Delhi University has good news for students wanting to pursue courses related to finance, business and economics. The number of seats offered under Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Administration (Financial Investment Analysis) and BA (Honours) in Business Economics have been increased to 1,162 from last year’s 884.
