Car insurance premiums at highest level ever, say insurers

Car insurance premiums have hit their highest recorded levels ever and rose at more than five times the rate of inflation during 2016, according to the Association of British Insurers. Increases to insurance premium tax, increased repair costs and the rising costs of whiplash claims all conspired to send the average comprehensive policy to £462 in the last quarter. Insurers playing a cynical game over whiplash as Government mulls reforms

Is George Osborne’s whiplash baby being thrown out with the bath water that disappeared into the Downing Street gutter when Theresa May booted him out of Number 11?
