The Tab S2 8.0 and Tab S2 9.7 appear to be successors to the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 and Galaxy Tab S 10.5 from last year, both seemingly coming with high-end features, and ultra-thin bodies (under 6 mm).
The Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 will be the smaller among the two new devices, sporting an 8-inch Super AMOLED display with 1536 x 2048 pixels, while the Tab S2 9.7 should offer a 9.7-inch Super AMOLED screen with the same pixel resolution. Both displays have 4:3 aspect ratios, just like Apple’s iPads. The new Galaxy Tabs should have plenty of common features, including 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7420 processors, 3 GB of RAM, 8 MP rear cameras, and 32 GB of storage space.
As previously reported, prices for the Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 could start at $399, while the Galaxy Tab S2 9.7 should be more expensive, possibly starting at $499. We assume that Samsung will sell the new Tabs in the US, as well as in many other parts of the world.
