Back in June, we told you about a new and “awesome” high-end HTC smartphone that should be released sometime in October. Codenamed HTC Hima Aero, the handset is supposed to feature a Quad HD (1440 x 2560 pixels) display of unknown size – most probably at least 5 inches. The upcoming smartphone should also have an advanced rear camera with f/1.9 aperture and support for RAW photography.
Last we heard, the Aero was headed to Europe. Now, @evleaks says that the device is also “confirmed for AT&T.” While there’s no word on when AT&T is planning to launch the smartphone, it will probably happen before the end of the year.
HTC already has a few Quad HD smartphones (One M9+, One E9+, and One ME), but they’re not made for the US market. Thus, the HTC Hima Aero could become the company’s first Quad HD handset to officially land in the US.
We’re really curious to find out what this HTC Aero will be all about. Will it be the “hero” phone that HTC CEO Cher Wang mentioned last month? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see.
