Eligibility criteria to appear for AIPMT
Age limit
- Applicant need to have completed 17 years during the time of admission/Applicant need to complete 17 years of age before the 1st day of January the following year.
- Upper AIPMT age limit is 25 years for General Caste while Scheduled Caste and Tribes as well OBCs enjoy a relaxation benefit of 5 extended years.
Educational qualification
- The applicant needs to have scored minimum 50% marks in each of these subjects: biology, physics, chemistry, and English in the 10+2 exam conducted by CBSE or any other Indian educational board. For SC/ST/OBC/PHC, the minimum marks percentage is 40% for each of the above mentioned subjects.
- Anyone appearing for 10+2 examination may also appear for the exam but after cracking the AIPMT exam, they will be given admission on provisional basis that will be only be finalized if they meet up with the regulations imposed by universities/institutions/states from where they have applied for.
AIPMT syllabus
There is not much to learn extra when preparing for AIPMT exam. The AIPMT syllabus is based entirely on the topics and chapters being discussed during the final two years of higher secondary education. The detailed syllabus structure is provided in tabular form below:

AIPMT Exam Pattern
The AIPMT 2016 question paper will comprise of 180 questions in total, all objective type with four options provided to pick the correct one. There will be no separate exam for physics, chemistry, biology, and English. Only one exam and questions will be combined from these subjects as per the syllabus. The answer sheet is specially designed where only ball point pen of blue or black ink can be used for answer marking purpose.
Exam duration is 03 hours.
Exam timing is from 10.00 a.m. to 01.00 p.m.
Each question carries 4 marks. For each wrong answer, one mark will be deducted from the total obtained marks. However, if the question is not attempted, then no marks will be deducted.
AIPMT Exam Date for 2016
The scheduled AIPMT 2016 exam date is on the 1st day of May, 2016 as per information available in the CBSE portal. AIPMT application form is available in the site www.aipmt.nic.in.
AIPMT Application Process
AIPMT application form 2016 can be downloaded from the www.aipmt.nic.in. Simply download the form, fill it up properly as per instruction, upload it to the site with the required documents, and pay the application fee through online payment gateway. The process is simple, ease, and fast. Those who want to pay directly through bank, they need to submit the scanned copy of payment receipt being provided by the bank. The exam application fee is 1400 INR for GENERAL candidates, and 750 INR for SC/ST/PH/OBC candidates. Late fee for form submission is 2800 INR for GENERAL and 2150 INR for SC/ST/PH/OBC. Last date to submit the form without late fee is 12/01/2016. Last date to submit the form with late fee is 10/02/2016. Remember, submitting the application form and other required documents without the fee will not make the candidate eligible to sit for the exam.
