Symbiosis Institute of Business Management, Pune launched a MBA programme in Innovation and Intrapreneurship in 2014. This two-year course aims at teaching students leadership skills and help them become successful entrepreneurs. In the first year itself, SIBM has managed to get 204 placement offers.
The students received offers from 70 companies, with the top package offered at Rs 22.2 lakh. The students’ average annual package was Rs 13.5 lakh, and a total of 162 offers were made above Rs 10 lakh. There were a considerable number of pre-placement offers (PPOs) and pre-placement interviews (PPIs) as well, 65 PPOs were extended to the batch. The companies offering PPOs were ITC Limited, ICICI Bank Limited, GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare Ltd., Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt. Ltd., Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., Goldman Sachs, Godrej Industries, Idea Cellular, Dabur India, Hero MotoCorp and others.
Few firms which came for recruitments to Symbiosis International University for the first time were Snapdeal, Dell India, Amazon, ZS Associates, DE Shaw and Company, LAVA International, Syngenta India, Maersk GSC and Credit Suisse.
The offers were made across different job roles, such as, investment banking, technology advisory, industrial relations, business advisory and strategy, equity research, corporate treasury, SCM consulting, organization and talent, marketing, sales, logistics, compensation and benefits, operational research and more.
Banking, financial services and insurance (BISF), fast moving consumer goods (FMCG), information technology, information technology enabled services, manufacturing, telecom and e-commerce, these sectors were the students’ top choices as indicated by the accepted offers
