A Cheadle businesswoman has been nominated for two travel industry awards less than 10 months after starting up.
Wendy Veal Luxury Travel Planner launched with a pop up shop in Cheadle Royal.
She will now be recognised by industry experts from Travel Weekly at their London showcase event on July 7.
Wendy has been selected as a finalist in ‘Leisure Agent Of The Year’ and in the Business Excellence Awards section,‘Small Agency Promotion Of The Year’.
Wendy said: “I work super hard at this and it is fantastic to just be nominated and recognised in my industry as someone who is doing a few things right.”
Beginning with just a Facebook page and a list of contacts from more than 20 years in the travel industry, Wendy’s home based business has grown quickly with a Twitter following of more than 10,000.
Wendy is now looking to expand her staff and aims to move to an office space.
She added: “Travel is my vocation and personal passion and I have also been privileged to have visited a vast amount of destinations, which of course helps.”
