Ever thought of taking a boat into a Hawaiian volcano spouting lava?

Well, for your next holiday you should consider exploring the Kilauea Volcano, Kalapana in Hawaii. Tourists can approach the volcano by boat and walk on its surface. Kalapana was a town which was completely covered in lava in 1986. Due to the slow lava movement, there were no casualties.

Kilauea Volcano is located at the Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, located on Hawaii’s Big Island. For this you need to fly in to Hilo International Airport (ITO), which is only 45 minutes from the Park.

Boat tours take 3 hours and are $200 (Rs 12,895) per person. A private charter would cost you $1200 (Rs 77,388)

Hikes take 3.5 hours and is $150 (Rs 9671) per person.

You also have the option of hiring as bike and doing the tour on your own, and each bike can be rented from anything between $20-$40 (Rs 1290- Rs 2579)
