ICFAI Tech School Admission Test (ITSAT) is an online/offline test conducted every year for the entrance in B.tech programs in ICFAI colleges. ITSAT 2019 will be conducted by the ICFAI Foundation for Higher Education (IFHE), Hyderabad. Selected candidates can choose amongst The ICFAI University, Dehradun, The ICFAI University, Jaipur, The ICFAI University, Jharkhand and The ICFAI University, Raipur according to their scores.

The students applying for the exam should have complete knowledge about the paper pattern and syllabus. The exam will be divided into four sections viz. Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English, each comprising of 30 questions making a total of 120 questions to attempt in 2 hours. Level of the exam is CBSE level and most of the exam syllabus can be covered by thoroughly studying the 11th and 12th NCERT books for PCM. To crack ITSAT 2019 with high percentile score, students should follow the correct study plan and appropriate study material.

ITSAT 2019 Study Material

For Physics, students can use Class 11th & 12th Physics NCERT books to cover most of the syllabus and get a good hold on the basic concepts and theory of the subject. To increase the difficulty level of numerical, students can refer to Physics bible, HC Verma Volume 1 and 2. If, however you find that your theoretical concepts are not clear, Halliday and Resnick can be the key to get a good hold on theory. Many other books like Cengage by BM Sharma, IE Irodov, Krotov, 35 Years by DC Pandey can also be used to solve numerical & get a firm hold on concepts.

Chemistry is itself divided into 3 parts namely Inorganic, Organic and Physical Chemistry. Again, class 11th & 12th Chemistry NCERT books shall be the first preference. Specifically for Physical Chemistry, OP Tandon, P Bahadur, RC Mukherjee, and PW Atkins can be used to practice questions. OP Tandon, Paula Bruice Yurkanis, Morrison and Boyd, RK Gupta by Arihant, IL Finar and Solomon’s are great options to grasp the concepts of Organic Chemistry. Inorganic Chemistry can be best learned from NCERT only but if there be any need for extra reference or practice, one can always refer to OP Tandon or JD Lee.


Mathematics is the key subject in every engineering exam. It demands a tight grip on the concepts and enough practice in every topic. Apart from NCERT, RD Sharma can be a key book to practice lots of questions topic-wise. Other books like SL Loney Trigonometry, SL Loney Coordinate Geometry, Hall and Knight Higher Algebra, IA Maron Calculus, Tata McGraw Hill and Arihant Publications are good sources of concepts and questions to practice.


English for ITSAT needs to be fluent in Reading Comprehension, Diction, Formation of Effective Sentences, Sentence Completion, Vocabulary, and Common Errors. Comprehending passages requires regular reading and writing habit, though you can start reading magazines, editorials or articles and comprehend them. Books like Arun Sharma Reading Comprehension for CAT, R Gupta’s can also be used for preparation. Various books like Wren and Martin for Grammar and Composition, Norman Lewis for vocabulary, A Mirror of Common Errors, and SP Bakshi are best for preparation in English.


Lastly, you can always refer Google and YouTube for particular topics and try to solve as many question papers and mock tests as possible. Attempt each mock test with 100% concentration as if appearing in the exam itself. There’s nothing better than to prepare every day like it’s your exam day tomorrow.
