Jamia Millia Islamia has announced that it will conduct a re-examination for the engineering and dental entrance tests. This decision has been made after allegations that several students cheated in the entrance exams conducted earlier.
The initial inquiry into the paper leak has indicated a breach in the examination system for the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Bachelor of Technology ( B.Tech) entrance tests. The university has taken this decision in order to provide a fair chance to all candidates, and so that undeserving candidates do not get admission while the meritorious ones suffer.
The university will issue new admit cards for all the candidates who appeared for the entrance test for these two courses. All necessary details regarding the fresh examinations will be conveyed to the candidates via e-mail and SMS. They will also be able to check the updates at the university’s official website.
Jamia had outsourced the administration of tests for this academic session, which includes BDS and B.Tech. Although the paper was set internally, few of the exams were outsourced to computer maintenance corporation, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), to ensure that exams are conducted without any glitches.
The B.Tech entrance exam was conducted on June 13, and the fresh exam will be conducted on June 27. As for the BDS exam, the test was held on June 14 and the re-exam is scheduled for June 25
