The new ProShot camera app that popped up in the Play Store last week may be a debutant when it comes to Android, but it’s been on Windows Phone for a while, and, given the camera-centric Lumia phones, has been battling the stock camera interface with great success there. After landing on Android, it quickly became clear that ProShot can rival much more established camera apps there.
One of its advantages lies in the great compression algorithms that shrink the resulting file with minimal loss of fidelity and details. Others pile up when you realize it does almost everything that the old dogs have, like full manual controls, RAW image output, custom aspect ratios, zero-lag bracket exposure adjustments, manual focus assist, and many more modes and features. You can even adjust the video bitrate, zoom and change recording options while you are actively shooting, which is pretty cool. If you are interested to take the newcomer for a spin, take a gander below.
