Micromax’s Yu brand has introduced the Yu Yureka Plus, a premium version of the popular Yureka smartphone. The latter has a history of selling out quickly via flash sales in India, the country that Micromax calls home. The Yureka Plus will launch on July 24th in India via a flash sale being conducted at 2pm Indian time by Amazon India. Registrations are being taken now.
The Yureka Plus features a 5.5-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. Put away your abacus, we’ll tell you that this works out to a pixel density of 401ppi. Under the hood you will find the 64-bit Snapdragon 615 chipset, which contains an octa-core CPU and the Adreno 405 GPU. 2GB of RAM is inside along with 16GB of internal memory. There is a 32GB capacity microSD slot available for those who need more storage.
The 13MP rear-facing camera includes the Sony IMX214 sensor, and the front-facing shooter weighs in at 5MP. A 2500mAh battery is charged (no pun intended) with supplying power to the phone. Cyanogen 12, which is based on Android 5.0, is pre-installed.
The Yureka Plus offers dual SIM capabilities and supports 4G LTE, 3G HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG connectivity. Buyers can choose from MoonDust Grey with polished finish and Limited Edition Alabaster White. The handset will be priced at the equivalent of $157 USD.
Judging by the success of the Yu Yureka, procuring a Yureka Plus during Friday’s flash sale is far from being a sure thing. If you’ve registered with Amazon India and plan on participating, all we can say is good luck!
