Designed to increase diversity in higher education’s senior-level leadership ranks, the upcoming ACE Spectrum Aspiring Leaders Program will combine interactive programming focused on honing leadership skills with networking opportunities and strategic career mapping.

The program will be held April 21-22 in Las Vegas. Space is limited, so mid-level administrators (typically department chairs, directors and assistant/associate deans) from diverse backgrounds should apply now before the February 26 early bird deadline.

Participants will have the opportunity to assess their current competencies and receive advice on creating a professional development plan to enhance their career trajectory.

“Participating in the ACE Spectrum Aspiring Leaders Program was an edifying experience for me,” said Peter Sheppard, associate professor/department head at University of Louisiana, Lafayette. “The in-person testimonials, networking opportunities and case study presentations were all exceptional experiences that are, quite frankly, far too absent for rising leaders. The experience not only helped to validate my potential as an executive leader, but also made me more aware of what is necessary for me to ascend to that level as well.”

The meeting agenda features sessions in critical areas such as crisis management, working with governing boards, communicating with media and a focused resume and cover letter review.
